A cool and harsh wind blew through the grave yard. It was quiet and dark. The air seemed to lay thick and heavy on everything around it, almost suffocating the bugs and mice that would probably have been running around unseen. It was like the dead that lay inside their graves were stealing the life and breath out of every living creature in the cemetery for just one last chance at life. Thank goodness they failed each time though. After all, no one liked to see the dead rising from their graves, it wasn't natural. As the breeze traveled across the resting places of the fallen, it seemed to gently and fondly caress the hair of a young man who was sitting amongst the tomb markers and coffins. His back was propped against a tombstone and his legs were stretched out in front of him. His black hair and clothing blended with his surroundings very well. His eyes were shut, and he seemed to be sleeping. His face was peaceful and calm, much like the rest of his eerie surroundings. It seemed that his pale and unmoving body should have been in one of the newest caskets, about to be sucked six feet into the ground, but alas, there was no one to do it. He hadn't really had a purpose in coming there other than to take a rest from his rather dull life. Or at least, it was dull in his eyes. He had been wanting another exciting piece of work to come along and entertain him, but unfortunately, no such specimens could be found. He started to wonder if all of the interesting people on this forsaken land had already been played with by him. Surely there had to be more somewhere. With his eyes closed, Caden hadn't noticed the huge orange tiger walking towards him. Only when the tiger stepped over him and flopped down on top of him did he realize that he was there. Caden let out a groan as his eyes blinked open, slightly dazed, but hardly drowsy. His stomach was almost completely flattened under the weight of the tiger who was now comfortably situated on top of him. Letting out another groan, Caden tried pushing the tiger off of him, but it was useless. "Alright you lazy furball, get off me," he said with slight annoyance in his voice, but it was soon muffled by the tigers tail, which swung over and landed on top of his mouth. Spitting out all the hair he could manage, Caden yet again made another effort to get the tiger off of him, "Come on Korath, give me break!" However the tiger just turned his yellow eyes upon him, they seemed to laugh at his predicament. Sighing, Caden leaned his head back. However, this didn't last long. Korath's head went shooting up. His beautiful and majestic form was put on the alert, muscles tensed and ready for action. Looking up, Caden whispered, "What is it? What do you see?" The tiger soon leapt from where he had been laying, allowing Caden to move freely. However, not but a few moments later, the tiger was out of sight, completely hidden somewhere amongst the graves. Caden knew that he wouldn't have gone far. They were stuck with each other for life. Caden soon found the reason for Korath leaving. Someone was coming. "Great...So much for peace and quiet."[/blockquote]

f a t i n she's a dwelling place for demons she's a cage for every unclean spirit every filthy bird and makes us drink the poisoned wine to fornicating with our kings Fatin moved through the dark graveyard angrily. She had never expected Sethros to have her dig up a grave. Doing such a thing was completely disrespectful, and while she might not carry much respect, she didn't go around digging up dead people. Especially not for some stupid golden pocket watch that Sethros claimed a Phillip Darren stole from his home years ago, before he was banished. He probably just wanted it because it was valuable, or had some magical use. If it was the first, Fatin would struggle to get back to Sethros, and he would send her into down to sell the damn thing. Sometimes he really needed to tell her exactly what she was doing, so she could save herself time.
Fatin sat down on a large headstone with an angry huff. She had been searching the graveyard since sunset, and had found no clue of a Phillip Darren. There was no way she was about to ask someone; especially with this shovel in her hands. That would definitely tell them what she intended to do, and they would either send her away or alert the police force...what were they called, watchmen? At the moment, she really wished that Callie, her cute little pet fox was with her. Fatin had been worried Callie would get lost, so she had left her with Sethros. She could only hope that Sethros would take care of her. He probably would, since Fatin could be terrifying when she got angry. Her temper was something you didn't want to ever see.
She stood up and began to head towards a part of the cemetery she didn't think she had gone through a second time. Fatin walked down the rows of headstones, looking at nothing but the names carved into them. The shovel was in her hand, carefully held away from the ground or anything it could knock into. If it made just the tiniest noise, who knew, perhaps someone was nearby and would hear her.
Fatin quickly cleared two rows in just several minutes. She began to feel confident and walked with less grace and cautious. Big mistake. A stone dip in the earth caused Fatin to stumble, causing her to drop her shovel on the ground with a loud thump. Her eyes widened slightly as she picked herself up and dusted off her clothes. She grabbed the shovel and stood up just in time to see a large animal run off. Fatin let out a breath; so she had only started something away, not drawn attention to her.
Slowly, she walked through the cemetery and scanned each headstone carefully. Fatin stopped in her tracks when she saw a man with black hair lying amongst the graves. If he hadn't said something, she would have thought he was dead as well. She then realized she was carrying a shovel--how bad did that look? Quickly, she shoved the shovel behind her and stared at the man.
"Hello," She purred, hoping to get his attention away from the fact she had a shovel. "What are you doing in a cemetery, hun?"

-:-Caden-:-
Caden was watching the whole time as she came waltzing up. She had a strange air around her. For some reason the graveyard actually suited her very well. Caden almost laughed when she tripped. Women…They were always falling all over themselves and making clumsy, stupid mistakes. They were always so dumbstruck by a cute guy that trying to have an intelligent conversation with them was impossible since they deemed just about any guy that would pay them attention cute. He always hated playing with women because it was so easy, but then again… They had their good sides too. If you wanted someone who would be willing to betray, look for a girl with an ex-boyfriend. Also, if you hit them at just the right time, you could wrap them around your little finger with promises of love, care, and kisses. Pathetic in his opinion, but that was just him. When he noticed the shovel in her hand, which she tried to quickly hide when she finally saw him, he got a slightly quizzical expression. “ What on earth is she doing with a shovel in a graveyard? Surely she isn’t going to dig one up? What a witch. Yeah, she definitely belongs here in that case.” Caden sat up from his slouched position and then rose all the way to his feet. He didn’t like the way she was looking down at him. For some reason it made him feel better to be taller than her. He guessed that it was because looking down at someone felt like you had more power over them, but he himself knew that lithe and small was just what you wanted in a fight with a hulking mass of muscle. He couldn’t quite decide what he wanted to do with this girl now that she was here. What uses did she have for him? Who did she know was the most important thing, but he knew that would be hard to divulge on first meeting. Yes, he would flirt with her as long as she wanted to, but if she gave him nothing he would throw her away at his first chance. He plastered a smooth smirk on his face, “I doubt that what I am doing is anything as serious as what you are doing. Tell me, what is a girl like you doing grave digging in a cemetery? Hardly seems normal.” As much as Caden might not have liked women, he was still a man and he still noticed certain things. Once she was closer, Caden could tell that she was quite beautiful. She had very soft and feminine features and a slender body. She was attractive to say the least. “ Maybe this isn’t such a bad idea…I might could have lots of fun with this one.” His green eyes twinkled as he gave her frame a quick look over and then returned them to her own pair of shimmering chocolate eyes.[/blockquote]

f a t i n she's a dwelling place for demons she's a cage for every unclean spirit every filthy bird and makes us drink the poisoned wine to fornicating with our kings She felt a chilly breeze coast by her; as a reflex, she pulled the coat that lay loosely around her shoulders tighter, quickly buttoning the bottom buttons. Fatin looked the man up and down. He was definitely handsome, Fatin thought. His black hair fell perfectly how she liked it, and he had interesting bright green eyes. While he didn't look strong, instead was tall in slender, she didn't think he wasn't strong. Actually, she thought that he probably was pretty strong, but didn't rely on that--she'd come to be quite the observer, in guys anyways. She liked to think of men as fruit; some were dirty, some were bruised, and some were perfect. Usually, she'd go for the perfect ones--but if she was looking for a more interesting guy, she'd go for another.
Fatin kept her eyes on the man at all times; she wasn't going to risk getting yelled at or locked away by Sethros again just because someone got in her way. She was going to get the stupid pocket watch sooner or later. Carefully taking a step forward, she placed the shovel in front of her. It was long enough that Fatin could lean on it, placing her folded arms on the rounded end of the stick. Her chocolate eyes nearly sparkled as she gazed at the green-eyed man. A smile softly curved her mouth, as she thought about how she would explain this.
Fatin loved a challenge--whether that be with a guy, or perhaps a puzzle. Even covering something up was a challenge to her; she had to figure out how to do it in a way that no one would find out. Never had she lost a challenge, and she wasn't about to do that now. She pursed her lips slightly and wondered what to tell him. Finally, a light went off in her head and she stood up straight.
"I've come to find my ex-husband's grave and get back the pocket watch I gave him. Could you help me? Perhaps you've seen his grave. Phillip Darren?" She gave him a dazzling smile, and tilted her head slightly in a questioning way. In her eyes was a cunning expression; she could only hope he'd bought the little lie she'd told.

-:-Caden-:-
Caden watched her every move...She was either lying or had a talent for confusing people. He was thinking it was the first. She was pretty and his guess was that she was smart also which meant that she could probably lie to just about any man and get away with it. Caden admired her if this is really what she was like. It reminded him of his own tactics. It was prideful he knew, but hey, he had never been caught before and he didn't count on it ever happening at any point in his life. He was wondering what his furry companion was doing at the moment. Probably watching with glee, glad that it was Caden talking with this little sprite instead of himself. The tiger was always shrugging off talking to people. It was like the one thing that he could take down in an instant was the one thing he didn't want to be around. Sometimes Caden wondered if he was scared and other times he wondered if it had something to do with the small past he didn't really remember. It was so strange to him that he could remember every single spell he had ever looked at in his life, but he was completely lost when it came to his life and what had gone on before that moment when he woke up. He even knew his age, but he couldn't remember where he had come from. It was simply ridiculous. However, he pried his mind form these thoughts and turned his attention back to the woman. Yet again, disgust welled up in him as he thought about how many men were trapped by these glassy-eyes critters. Marriage was surely the only ensured one way ticket to suicide. Caden's face turned stoic, but his eyes held a laughing expression that seemed more demonic than anything else, "I suppose that he is in the grave with that pocket watch because you put him there." He then turned casual, as though he were talking to someone in an everyday setting on the street, "I think I saw his grave a few rows over. But my question is, if he really is your ex, why don't you know where his grave is?" He then regained that devilish look, watching her closely for the answer in her eyes and body language.[/blockquote]

f a t i n she's a dwelling place for demons she's a cage for every unclean spirit every filthy bird and makes us drink the poisoned wine to fornicating with our kings Fatin kept her eyes on the black-haired man, a small, almost predatory smile visible on her face. Goodness, he was hot--but Fatin wasn't here for fun. She mentally shook the thought away. Her little 'mission' was to come here, dig up the stupid grave, get the pocket watch, then return it to Sethros. Not to stay and play around with this man. Though that would be fun; it would definitely piss of Sethros. She needed a little rebellion sometimes, Fatin thought with a slight smirk. Fatin glanced around the graveyard, looking to see if she saw anyone else. Perhaps she'd find out where the large animal from earlier ran of to...then again, maybe it wasn't friendly and she didn't. She looked back at the man, pursing her lips.
"We weren't together when he died." She shrugged. Fatin rolled her eyes, as if that was obvious. "I heard he killed himself because some blonde-haired beauty didn't want to marry him. Serves him right. He never had been much of a nice man." She told him, shaking her head, lying almost perfectly. Ah, this was so much fun for her. Fatin enjoyed lying, especially when she had to make up situations as she was right now. It was a thrill to her, a challenge. She had to try not to be found out, because that would be like losing the game. Lately, all she had to think about life is that it was just one big, cruel yet amusing game. Maybe she shouldn't think about it like that, but did she care? No, she didn't.
Fatin glanced around the graveyard, searching for the name Phillip Darren. With a smile, she realized she found it! She let out a breath of air and glanced back at the man. "Will you help me dig him up? Please?" Fatin asked him, lip pushing out slightly, asking the question as if it wasn't odd to ask. She stayed like that for a couple seconds before walking away towards the grave, not bothering to check to see if he was following her. If he didn't come, she's do it herself. She might break a nail, but it would still be done.

-:-Caden-:-
Caden smirked as he listened to her. Of course he had died because of a woman. He was now reassured that his general dislike of women was wisdom. Granted he might not ever have a constant love life, but who needed love? Men can live without it, as strange as the thought is to most of them. He was content to play with them, and then trash them when they held no more profit. Being able to detach yourself from them is the key. "The break up must've been pretty bad for you to have not come to the funeral at all. Pretty sad, but then again, he'll never know." Caden had spoken so lightly, but then ended on a dark note. He watched her walk towards the grave and cast a glance over his shoulder. Korath was still hiding, but Caden could tell that he was nearby. They had been together so long that they both had a sense of the other. It was like all of their fights had torn pieces of their hearts out and all of their fun had picked up the shattered piece, placing them in the heart of the opposite being. Sometimes Caden thought he could almost hear what Korath was thinking, and the other way around, but they would never be able to tell. Where animals might have been able to speak through the mind or through words was still in question, but it was certain that they couldn't now. Even though he couldn't read Korath's thoughts word for word, it was obvious to Caden that he didn't like the girl. He knew that he was playing a bit of hardball with her. They were both lying through their teeth, and they both knew it, but the problem was that no other truth presented itself, so they had to take each other's word at face value. It was the kind of game that interested Caden. He never got to play it for very long because people who were capable of doing it soon tired and decided to try and kill him. It all ended with blades and blood. He was curious as to whether that was going to be the same story here, with this girl. If it came down to it, he knew that he would be able to perform just as easily as he did with everyone else. Sure she was beautiful, but so were plenty of other women. He knew this was true. He followed her to the grave slowly and watched for a moment. She was about to start digging into the grave with that shovel. "Jeez, does this woman not posses any kind of magic that might help her with this kind of task? Useless, weak, women...all of them synonymous." He thought to himself in passing. He then moved a little closer to her. What he was about to do wasn't because he was taking pity on the girl for not having any other way to dig up the grave, but because he didn't want to have to wait for her to finish digging up the grave to complete his game with her. She was interesting to him and he wanted to figure out exactly what it was that going on. So, to get on with the goal, he would lend his aid, but not without cost to her. "Here, let me," he had come up behind her. He then slid to the side, his hand just barely brushing over the skin of her hand as he took the shovel from her. What she probably had noticed was that more than touching her, he had used a bit of magic. It wasn't much, but if she had any sort of magic of her own, she would have known it. He then took the shovel and shoved it into the ground. About 5 second later, a good deal of the earth that had covered the grave was blown off, the red glowing hints of a high powered energy blast showing over the rest of the dirt, which was still there, but only lightly peppered over the grave, bits of the old wooden casket were just visible. Caden smirked, fully proud of himself. He had aimed that perfectly. However, he had left out one small detail... He had forgotten that the use of magic would set Korath off. The great orange tiger came out from behind a gravemarker, his huge and graceful form poised to pounce on the girl. He turned around, pupils just barely illuminated red still from his use of magic. "Hey, it's alright. That was me." He told the tiger in a monotone voice. The tiger would know what he meant. Somehow Korath was always able to understand Caden, even if Caden couldn't understand him. However, it worked out fine...ususally.[/blockquote]

f a t i n she's a dwelling place for demons she's a cage for every unclean spirit every filthy bird and makes us drink the poisoned wine to fornicating with our kings Fatin smirked secretively when she realized the man was following her. Now she wouldn't have to do the work, thank god. Of all the magic and fire power she had, nothing would help her dig up the coffin. She could shift into her Kitsune and use her paws, but that would mean her getting dirty. Then again, she could also get some animals to dig it up for her since she could control many of them. Fatin felt a, well if felt electric if you had to put a name to it, feeling as he brushed his hand against hers. Magic, she thought curiously, pulling her hand away and allowing him to take the shovel from her.
Her eyes widened just a bit in surprise when he used magic to unearth the casket. They quickly went back to normal and Fatin was about to thank him, but suddenly a large tiger appeared in her life of sight, ready to pounce on her. She made a little squeak and took a step back before narrowing her eyes and growling meanacingly at the tiger in a pitch the man's human ears could not hear. It was her true canine form, the kitsune, making the noise. Fatin greatly disliked felines, and absolutely hated then when she was actually in her kitsune form.
Quickly, she turned away from the tiger and walked over to the hole, jumping in, her boots making a loud thud sound on the wood. She tried to open it, but there was a lock on it. Rolling her eyes, she wondered if people really thought a simple lock would stop someone who wanted to get into a grave. It definitely wouldn't stop Fatin. Immediately, her hand burst into flames and closed around the lock, easily melting it off. She then brushed off some of the dirt, revealing an engraving that said Phillip Darren. His life ended too early. She rolled her eyes and opened it, gasping at what was already a skeleton! At least the clothes were still there, though. With a wrinkled nose, Fatin quickly reached into his left pocket, looking around for the golden pocket watch. It wasn't in that one, so she searched in the other front pocket. Not there either. She stood up, trying to look for the wretched thing. Why did Sethros even need it? Fatin saw a glimmer of gold underneath the skeleton. Slowly, she reached towards it, her fingers closing around a gold chain. A smirk appeared on her face as she pulled it, revealing the gold pocket watch. She dangled it in front of her face, smiling. This little thing was what Sethros wanted? Why didn't he buy another one? She grabbed the actual clock part with her hand was about to put it on her pocket, but a jolt of magic, similar to what she'd felt when the man touched her hand but much stronger, rode up her arm. Obviously there was something magical about the watch, but Fatin didn't care to know at the moment. She'd rather talk to the man standing on actual ground. Fatin hauled herself out of the whole.
She dangled the pocket watch in the air. "Got it!" Fatin said, smiling happily before putting it into her pocket. She sat on a nearby headstone, ignoring the tiger. The woman smiled, a bit seductively you might say, at the man before her. "I didn't quite catch you name, hun." She said, expecting a name from him. "Mine's Fatin."

-:-Caden-:-
Caden walked over to Korath and ran his fingers through the tigers plush fur, savoring the smooth and comforting feeling. The tiger panted slightly from the excitement that had been coursing through him and then looked up at Caden, his bright eyes focusing on him with an intelligent gleam. Caden gave a slight smirk to his companion and then turned his attention back to the girl. She had plopped down into the grave and was searching through the coffin for her precious pocket watch. What was more humorous to Caden than anything else was that she was rummaging through the remains of a skeleton. That man had been dead for a long time. Given her appearance, there was no way that she could have been married to that man unless she had already lived for a long time. Granted that might very well be the case, Caden still highly doubted that she was telling the truth. Whether she was or not it was and interesting story to say the least. He was willing to bet though, that the real story was the best one. Despite the fact that he was still trying to act like somewhat of a gentleman in order to keep the woman interested in him, he wasn't about to help her out of that hole. He had already dug up the grave for her, at a cost of her own energy of course, but still, it was work on his part. He just watched and was glad that she wasn't so weak that she couldn't get out of a six foot hole. He eyed the watch that she was now dangling through the air, no doubt enraptured by the shiny surface and the ideas of what she could do with it. He had to admit that the watch did have a beautiful frame and a nice bit of gold plating on it. It was easily worth a bundle, but Caden knew that without having a specific venue to sell it to, someone that really wanted it, he would have had to down play the real worth. That was something that he really hated to do, but sometimes, buyers were just sticklers with their money. He wondered if that was why the girl was really looking for it. Did someone really want it? Had someone hired her to go and get it? He shook his head slightly at himself. He was always scheming. Best to get real answers. Caden took a few steps towards her to cut the distance between them in half, Korath following attentively at his side, a silent guardian. He gave her a dazzling smile to match the rather seductive one that played on her face. He chided himself for how much he was noticing her features, and turned his attention back to business, "Pleasure to finally have a name for you, Miss Fatin." He then said inwardly, "Time to make sure you stop calling me 'hun'." Then out loud her continued his smooth performance, "My name is Caden." He then jerked his head in the tigers direction, who was now sitting in a rather regal manner next to Caden, "And this is Korath, my traveling companion." He then put a smirk on his face and his eyes narrowed in a sign of mischief, "That is quite a bit of magic that you possess." He wasn't about to let it show that he didn't really like regular fire. It served for as good food for his own abilities, but otherwise he hated it. What she didn't know obviously wouldn't kill her, at least not yet.[/blockquote]

f a t i n she's a dwelling place for demons she's a cage for every unclean spirit every filthy bird and makes us drink the poisoned wine to fornicating with our kings The woman pocketed the watch and removed her hand, not wanting to touch the magic-filled object. It seemed to almost sizzle in her pocket, occasionally sending a tingle, or perhaps a chill, down her leg. Fatin knew how to use the magic she had, and when something was magic. However, she didn't like using it, because it seemed to was something you had to learn. Sure, you had to learn a power--what she called the magic you got from a certain element--but it was also something you were born with, even a part of. From birth, Fatin knew how to use this fire element, even in the littlest ways. She learned how make it stronger, but she hadn't had to learn how to begin to use it. Sethros had taught her magic, pretty much against her will. The subject bored her, if she was honest. Her fire and magic were two different things, but now she thought she was thinking in circles.
Fatin ignored the tiger, except for the occasional glance to make sure it hadn't gotten too close. Her eyes were mainly on Caden, but rarely his eyes. Instead, she was basically gazing at him like a piece of meat, you might say. She wouldn't word it that way, but it would probably take a while for Fatin to come up with another. Fatin gave him a sweet smirk. "Caden. Hrm, it suits you well." She complimented him easily, then glanced down at the tiger during its introduction. "Why do you travel with a tiger, out of all animals?" Fatin dismissed the tiger rudely, raising and eyebrow. Again, since the fox spirit within her was a canine, it didn't much like any of the feline species. Some of that hatred seemed into the human Fatin; she was fine around cats (some were quite adorable), but she very much disliked the larger breeds. So it was natural for her to wonder why this man would travel with such an annoying, despicable creature.
"That is quite a bit of magic that you possess."
A raw scowl appeared on the brunette's face, but was slowly wiped away with an expressionless face. Of course, her eyes were probably easy to read--somewhat cold and hard. Fatin shook her head and closed her eyes momentarily. "Magic? What I have is not magic, it's power. You should know the difference." She gave him somewhat of an angry smirk, and narrowed her eyes slightly. Fatin stood up and walked behind Caden, making sure to walk past on his side not occupied by a tiger. Her fingers lightly brushed his shoulder, very much a seductive manner if you were experienced enough to spot it. She crouched to the ground and picket up a sizable stone before walking past Caden again, not straying too close this time.
The brunette resumed her seat on the same headstone, not caring how disrespectful that was. She didn't care; the occupant was dead, for goodness sakes. Fatin held the stone in her left hand, fixing Caden with a steady gaze and smirk. The stone began to levitate and shimmer with a big of an orange glow. Her voice was almost like a teachers, and it sounded sympathetic for whatever reason. "This, dearest Caden, is magic. Complicated, by childish in my opinion. This," The stone dropped into her palm and was instantly devoured by bright orange flames; they cast a warm glow onto Fatin's face. Almost eerie, you might think. Not two seconds later, the stone became a pile of brown ash; Fatin tilted her hand and it floated away to her right. She'd made sure the wind had been going that way before pulling that stunt. "Is power. Fire in my case. Raw and, well, powerful." Fatin looked away from his eyes, though a smug smirk was placed quite noticeably on her face. She was satisfied with herself. The woman knew that little show wasn't needed, but she couldn't help herself. She enjoyed showing off, and who was she to turn down that opportunity.

-:-Caden-:-
When Caden heard her comment about Korath he felt a little bit of anger burn inside of him. This was another reason to dislike women. They were always afraid of Korath. He was perfectly harmless unless they gave him reason to attack them. Sometimes he just wished her could tell Korath to attack them anyways. Then they would have a real reason to be afraid of him. Granted he was much larger than a normal sized cat, but on the inside he was still just a playful furball. No one ever gave it time to figure that out though. Caden shook it off realizing that was also his fault. He had a nasty habit of killing people before they had the chance to get to know to much about either himself or his tiger friend. "I gather that you don't really like big cats from what you have said. I travel with Korath because he is the only one that I can stand to be around. He is a lot like me actually. You might be surprised. Tigers are easily the most powerful and agile animals that have brains to equal their physical prowess. Besides, I can't stand dogs. They are fine in their own breed, but as a companion, they would never do." Caden neglected to mention that he had a bond with the tiger that made it impossible for them to go anywhere away from each other without both of them feeling the separation. When he had woken up on that stormy night and lived, he knew that Korath would be with him 'til the end of their days. Caden felt her hand slide very softly over his shoulder. He gave no reaction at all, although his insides were burning with fury. He knew that it was only natural. She was a woman, he was more than slightly attractive, and ergo she was bound to start playing around. He had known that all along, but he still couldn't push the repulsiveness of it out of his mind. He had made a little trigger for himself that seemed to go off the deep end when women started acting seductively. He just automatically thought of all the men that had been chained to women through marriage because they had let their eyes look at too much. He was not going to give into that. He was not going to be one of the newest casualties to the race of women. Caden listened absent-mindedly to her little demonstration, the glow of the combusted rock causing his eyes to turn away. He hated that kind of fire. It was uncontrollable, painful, revolting, and certainly not beautiful. He preferred flames that shot out in more than the same old orange, red, yellow, and sometime blue combinations. He wanted something with more life, and more purpose. Fire was purposeless unless you could control it. It just depressed Caden that he couldn't show her real fire at the moment. He hadn't brought his spell book with him. He shook his head and chuckled at her. This girl had no idea what magic was. Looking at her directly, his green eyes lit up with mischief and delight, "You have much to learn if that is your impression of magic. Magic and power aren't separate things. They are one in the same. You gain power through your magic. Power is something physical, magic is elemental. Power is something that the mind judges when it see's something the rest of the body couldn't normally do. Magic is the source of your power. Your elemental fire is no different than the telekenisis you so readily displayed. It is all magic, just in a different form. Once you understand this, you are capable of mastering the darker, more natural and free-flowing tendencies of magic-" Caden paused as his emerald eyes began to change to an unnerving golden color. The air around them grew thicker and thicker, the small ounces of light that had been peeking through the night were choked out. Everything was very quickly turned to utter blackness, a thing that could never have been natural. "-Magic and how it is really the small part of sorcery, which stays alive in every corner of life." He then pulled the darkness that shrouded them die and return to the normal night sky. His eyes slowly turned back to their emerald green color. "Perhaps if you would take the blinders that you put up over your eyes, you might be able to see the real beauty of magic, but as it stands now, I am surprised that you know what you do. You must have a good teacher."[/blockquote]

f a t i n she's a dwelling place for demons she's a cage for every unclean spirit every filthy bird and makes us drink the poisoned wine to fornicating with our kings By the little expression Caden showed, Fatin could tell he hadn't been too happy with what she said about his "companion". She wasn't going to change her thoughts just because someone didn't like them, and plus, it was basically impossible for her to do so. She tilted her head slightly, listening to his words about the tiger. A bit of anger flared in herself, but it was more of an irritability with him. So he thought tigers were basically superior to other animals? "Tigers are easily the most powerful and agile animals that have brains to equal their physical prowess." His words echoed in her mind. He was basically insulting her; she had the spirit of a fox. Foxes were amazing animals; they were swift and agile, and extremely cunning.
"Obviously you've never heard of a fox." Fatin scoffed. "I find them more fitting to your description of a 'powerful' animal." She told him, trying not to sound too rude. The woman couldn't help it; she'd felt as though she'd been insulted, and she lashed out when such things happened. Fatin let out a breath of air, pushing her bangs up and out of her face, she wasn't sure when they'd fallen down. She dug her fingernails into her palm, almost to the point where she broke through her skin. For some reason, the easiest and quickest way for Fatin to calm down was, unfortunately, self-harm. She didn't quite appreciate that it was the only way, but at least it worked. She blinked away her anger and gave Caden an apologetic smile.
She listened to him as he had a little rant of his own. Fatin had to say, what he said made sense. She'd spoken without much thought; just what she felt about the matter. What Caden was saying was better than what she had said, but that didn't mean Fatin was about to just start liking magic. She still felt it was a bit amateur-ish. With a glance at the ground, then back up to Caden, she bit her lip softly before replying.
Fatin watched as his eyes began to slow, and the air around them changed. Wow, he seems pretty powerful... She thought, almost greedily. Pursing her lips, she replied, not showing how embarrassed she felt inside. "Maybe you're right. But honestly, I do not like magic. I don't know why...it just doesn't work with me, I suppose." She shrugged, looking away. Then she looked back at him, a soft smirk on her face. "A good teacher? Sure...you could call it that." Sethros had been her teacher; and boy, had he been persistent. Whenever Fatin hadn't been able to do something, he'd push her until she got it. It was tedious and made her angry, but he'd taught her in the end. She had to thank him, ever so silently though, for teaching her what she knew.
the day has come for all us sinners if you're not a servant, you'll be struck to the ground flee the burning, greedy city lookin back on her to see there's nothing around

Caden chuckled. Foxes compared to tigers. Yeah, it would be funny to see the outcome of such an encounter. Korath would be feasting on the canines body before the end of the day. He knew that foxes could be quite cunning, but they lacked the physical prowess and general sleekness necessary for such encounters. "Oh, I have heard of foxes, but I find them inadequate. They are dogs afterall. And besides, Korath and I have been together for too long for me to prefer any other animal. I suppose that you could say he ensured that I was completely biased towards cats, especially big ones. We have more than a companionship." He looked at the big tiger, the cats yellow eyes blinked at him and his ears twitched. He seemed to be agreeing in his own way. It was like having a friend to sit and nod their head in agreement with you. Korath always knew when Caden needed those looks. He always knew when he needed to be there. "Well, lIttle miss, if you ever feel connected to your fire or any other unnatural ability like telepathy or such, then you are using magic. I suppose to one thinking about things differently their whole life it is to be expected. However, I am guessing that it is the darker side of magic that streams on sorcery that you don't like. Most people have trouble swallowing it." He gave her a sideways glance and then looked at the ground. "I wouldn't happen to be familiar with this teacher I am sure. Although, if they have been so fortunate as to make progress with you, it might be worth meeting them just for a test." He gave a mischievous smile and then sobered, "It is surprising they let someone like you out though. I know I wouldn't." He then gazed at her with his emerald eyes. He could almost hear Korath sighing next to him. The tiger was about as bored with flirting as Caden was, but neither of them could deny how helpful it was in getting things that you want. Caden then tipped his head back and glanced up at the sky. The moon was high now and he was starting to feel the effects of weariness, but he would never let it show. He wanted to make sure that his business here, with this girl was cleared up before he left to get some sleep. He and Korath would have a busy day tomorrow, but it he could tell this encounter would work for good in some way or another. Better to enter one day sleepy than to end another very ill. As though to reaffirm his thoughts of sleep, Korath opened his mighty jaws and let out a huge yawn. He smirked slightly at the tiger as the cat tried to blink sleep from his eyes.[/blockquote]
