The name is Raina.
Others call me Rain.
I have survived here for as long as the river.
There's no doubt I am a Female.
My place in this world is a Townsperson.
SPECIES: Naiad
A naiad is a water nymph. Naiads live in or around their source of water that they protect. They will live until their water source runs out.
** User of the Water element.
WHEN I LOOK IN THE MIRROR...
When you look at Raina, one of the first things that should pop into your mind is innocent. Her voice is soft and pure. She seems to have an aura of kindness and innocence surrounding her. Raina is quite short; she's actually shorter than most average-sized beings. Her skin is very pale and never changes color in the sun. Odd light blue hair flows down her back like a gentle river. She has soft, feminine facial features that make her seem much younger than she is. Raina's large, blue-violet eyes just add to the younger look.
Raina doesn't care much about fashion. She usually makes her own clothes out of fibers she finds or buys. They are usually always white or light blue, and usually always dressed. Raina greatly enjoys ribbon; you will commonly see her pretty much draped in it. She sometimes ties her hair up with a ribbon if she leaves her river. The naiad almost never wears shoes; she finds them constricting. Raina always wears the necklace she was given as a gift, which you can see below.

MY OWN PERSON...
This naiad is one of those people who are beautiful inside and out. However, being like this has its downsides. Raina is very naïve and simply cannot see the dark in others, even when it's right in front of her--she only sees the good. She seems to live in a world where everything is perfect and beautiful. Anything that disrupts that is something Raina wouldn't like. She wouldn't allow it in, and would instead try to disguise it as something else. There aren't many things Raina finds ugly and revolting; for she has a great love for all nature.
Raina is kind to everyone, and she likes to ask a lot of questions. She hasn't been away from her river a lot in her lifetime, and so she's missed a lot. Simple things to you aren't really simple to her. She can be quite old fashioned at times. Raina is someone people feel that they have to like, but sometimes its not so easy to get along with her. She believes she's always right, and is not a happy person when someone proves her wrong.
Despite seeming to be a completely happy person, Raina sometimes suffers short periods of depression. It happens whenever she thinks about him, the one who broke her heart. Although he has probably been dead for a very long time, Raina's heart still aches for him. When she thinks about him, Raina likes to go sit on a rock in the center of the waterfall, or right near it. She doesn't find this stunt dangerous, though, she finds it quite relaxing. The calming rushing of water soothes Raina, and she will often sit there until she feels like herself again.

THE STORY OF MY PAST...
Raina was born a long, long time ago. Her mother was a kind, beautiful woman, and her father she did not know. When she was sixteen years old, Raina left her home in search of one of her own, as her mother had done before her. Soon, she found the
Teardrop River and fell in love with its beauty. It was larger than she was used to, but she knew it was perfect for her.
Nothing very eventful happened for a long time. That is, until an elf named Erynion stumbled towards the river and fell in, injured. Raina, who had been playing with a school of fish in the river's depths was surprised to hear the loud splash and see the elf sinking to the bottom. She grabbed him and brought him to the surface, and proceeded to heal his wounds. It had looked as though an animal mauled him, but Raina hadn't asked. Raina put him into a sleep so he wouldn't overwork himself when he woke up. When he did, Erynion was surprised to be alive, and that Raina saved him. He soon fell in love with the innocent beauty, and her with him.
Erynion tried to get Raina to come back with him to his house, but Raina couldn't leave her river. Angry, he left, but came back two months later and built a small house right near the river. He begged Raina to move in with him, and she finally did. It was there they lived for several years, until Raina discovered she was pregnant. Erynion was revolted by the thought of Raina having a child. He didn't want anything to do with it. So he went out one day and found himself a wife, since him and Raina weren't technically married. Instead of a ring, he had given Raina the necklace she still wears to this day, and they had a small ceremony of their own. Erynion was only coming home every couple of days, and it wasn't even for that long. Eventually, the baby was born--and Erynion wasn't even there for the birth. When he came back, he had
a beautiful elf with him, one he claimed was his wife. He said that he didn't love Raina anymore, and that his new wife was better than her. Then he left.
Raina was completely torn apart and heart-broken. She had someone come tear down the house and she went back to the river with her daughter, Aranel. The naiad still loved Erynion, but wanted nothing to do with him. She didn't understand how anyone could be so cruel.
The years came and went, and for several of them, Raina was still heart-broken. She recovered eventually, but still suffers depression every now and again when she thinks about Erynion. Then Aranel grew to be sixteen years, and left. Both said their goodbyes, and that was that. Now, Raina wasn't really happy that Aranel left, but it was custom that every naiad left in search of a home. She does not know where Aranel went, but in her heart, she knows that she is alright.
It's been once again many years since then. Rania is happy living in her river, where she's gone back to being her normal 'innocent' self.
