Kay;en turned to see where Sylfaen was looking and with wide eyes she stopped. "Oh how beautiful!!" Her hands clasped in front of her as she looked at it."They will be glad to see you!" She walked forward at a faster pace now, almost skipping through the snow. Now doubt the guards though strangely of her, for she seemed to stand out like a light in a dark place. Her smile was broad and her eyes glittering as she came closer. If only her parents had been here.

Sylfaen smiled sadly at her enthusiasm. If only that was the only feeling that would arise from his people. They would be angered, that much he was certain of. They had a right to be angry with him, after he basically abandoned them. He wouldn't try to reason or make excuses; he had no reason to. There was nothing he could say. With a heavy sigh, he trudged toward the gate through the piling snow. He could already see that all of the guards had frozen in their places, held with shock and realization. One swerved around and dashed towards the alarm bell. He took the rope and began to ring it like a madman.
Sylfaen wasn't sure what to make of this antics. It certainly seemed happiness and relief were the dominant emotions, something that was surprising. The guards at the gate threw it open without a word, bowing as lowly as was physically possible. Sylfaen smiled and nodded towards both of them. What he found within his beloved city were murmurs of worry and uncertainty. He knew what the alarm was raised for, but none of them did. As he was about to address them, a swirling wind of snow and ice shot toward him, encasing him and swirling around him like a whirlwind. It only lasted a second or two, but it was enough to leave the crowd deadly silent. When the wind left him, his hair was purely white, his skin as pale as snow. His icey blue eyes grazed the crowd calmly, and his dusky brown coat became royal blue robes encrusted with diamonds and sapphires. A staff with a top of pure ice appeared in his hand, and Tundra cooed with approval.
The silence turned into a burst of overjoyed shouting and pure chaos. The people rushed him, having to be held back by the guards who had immediately left their posts. One little girl managed to slip between one of the guard's legs, sprinting toward him without any reserve. She ignored her mother's scolding and dove into her leader's arms. Sylfaen's laughter filled the air as he returned the child's embrace. She glanced up at him and smiled brightly, her two front teeth missing. She stood there for one last second before scurrying back to her furious mother. Sylfaen still had the overjoyed smile on his face as he turned to Kaylen. "Now do you understand why I was so homesick?" he said with a chuckle.

Kaylen nodded to him as her twinkled brightly saying, 'I told you so'. Ash she looked at him, in his new form she couldn't help but smile brighter. "Oh, how wonderful" She laughed and flicked her fiery red hair behind her shoulders. Her heart was warmed by the fact that she had helped someone, well actually the whole species. The little girls antics made her laugh again, oh how happy these people were to see their ruler. How glad it was to see him again. Curtsying deeply she said to Sylfaen, "Well then, I guess I better be going." She looked up at him, "My job here is done."

Sylfaen nodded with understanding. She most likely had a home of her own to return to. He would miss her bright and lighthearted presence, but he was sure they would meet again some time in the future. He placed a hand on her shoulder and smiled at her. "Please be safe. If you ever require anything, you know where to find me." Suddenly a short, muscular woman with raven hair that curled around her face and down to her waist came stalking forward, a stoney expression on her chiseled face. She bowed sharply and deeply, then arose in the same fashion. "My lord, it is a wonderous sight to see you have returned to us." She then spotted Kaylen, and drew her scimitar made purely of ice from her belt. "Is this nymph an ally of yours?" Sylfaen gingerly lowered Vrael's swordpoint. "I assure you, she is a friend." He had almost forgotten about Tundra, but a joyous hoot from above made him look up. Tundra was flying in a circle, dozens of tiny hands shooting up to try to pet her soft feathers. Sylfaen's melodious laugh rang loudly and purely. Vrael's eyes seemed to betray a pleasant feeling, although her expression never revealed anything.

Kaylen looked at the ice scimatar for a moment before letting out a slight bit of laughter. Curtsying to Sylfaen and his bodyguard she slipped out o the crowd, somehow she was lost in it, her firey hair, nowhere to be seen. She was good at this, hiding and reappearing in the best of times. Many thought this was a bit strange, but for her, it was only normal. The world of ice had been made whole once again, and in a place where you wouldn't expect it, was filled with a warmth that only the soul can feel.
