Axel was still breathing heavily as his wide eyes bored into Raphael's. "His actions got us into the worldwide predicament we are facing now. Just ask him for the whole story, you'll understand soon enough. That is, if he decides to tell you the truth." He grasped his scythe and stalked off, back over to the swampy waters. He cupped his hands and scooped some up, splashing his face that had small beads of sweat forming on it. Raphael certainly wasn't a weak opponent.
Raphael looked at Miriel with a different eye. She seemed to be much cleverer than she led on. "I.. do apologize. It's just, he knows how to pierce someone's heart with those words of his..." A sharp pain ran down his entire arm. He twisted it slightly, examining a long cut that went from his forearm to his elbow. Raphael's mouth twisted into a sideways frown of frustration. "Something came upon me, something I can't really explain." He ripped a strip of cloth off of his tunic and dabbed at the blood that was seeping from his wound. As he did, he glanced back at Bael. "So many things rip at his mind whenever he sees them. I'm sure my face often comes up in his nightmares..." Raphael laughed lightly. Man, was he tired. He looked over at Axel, who was cooling himself down by the swamp waters. "I do hope he learns to control his temper. He truly isn't as vicious as he may appear."

Bael was still coughing up blood from when Axel had choked him. His fur coat in shreads and his blood stained pants show the damage done. "Raphael..." He coughed more, "I didn't mean this upon you. You are the one I like, I just wanted to mess with Axel." His young boy face looked older, wiser and war torn with all the scratches and cuts that littered it. The blood streams on his face were never ending. "I needed that beat down..." He muttered in between his coughing.
Blood began to water the trees around Bael. He pulled out a cloth and whiped his face to clear a path for new blood trails. "Miriel..." He said still staring at the ground, "Good job on stopping them." He cracked a smile. "Axel..." He paused for the longest time until he heard the water stop moving, "Thank you for reminding me I'm still alive..." Bael gave a fake laugh, "I'm tired... I need to sleep." He fell back at the word 'sleep' and fell asleep.

Miriel nodded to Raphael unable to answer, energy was draining from her and she felt dizzy for only a moment. She passed a hand in front of her eyes and shook her head at the two guardians. Such a difference between them. Then the voice of the small frame of Bael came to her hearing. It was so faint, so distant. Like someone who was trying to call out in dense fog.
Immediately her form straightened and she cast a worried look on his small form. The steady motion of his chest rising and falling reassured her though. Miriel's blue gaze focused on Raphael as she pondered what he said. A smile came to her lips, lighting her face like the sun. She was amazed how quickly the mood changed between them. Now that the threat was past, the air around them seemed thinner and easier to breath.
Her gaze glanced to Axel, his form bent down by the swamps murky water, scooping up the cold liquid did indeed give him a different appearance. " he isn't as vicious as he appears...But that doesn't make him any less dangerous." the thought rang in her head. "Well I have to admit, that was some fighting..haven't seen that in a long while." She shook her head again at the memory of the two of them fighting. They now acted like it had never happened, did it always end this way. Realizing that she knew everyone present and no one knew her she looked back at Raphael. "Forgive me for not introducing myself. I am Miriel." She bowed slightly in the elvish custom and straightening up glanced back at her horse. " And this is Calanon.

Raphael glanced worriedly over at Bael, so he walked over and gently placed his hand on the small boy's frame. Even though there was still blood surrounding him, he stopped coughing it up. He sighed deeply. "Certainly knows how to teach them..." he muttered, looking at Axel out of the corner of his eye.
Axel, his face dripping wet, just grunted, "Anytime, brat. Anytime."
Raphael smiled at her comment about their fighting. "Well I wish we would use those fighting skills of ours on something other than each other." He said the last part particularly loud, directing it at Axel's back.
Axel just turned around and glared at him; his eyes were usually enough to make people get the picture.
"It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance, Miriel." He stepped over and stroked the horse's neck. "Quite a strong one, isn't he..?" Raphael, even though he knew he might be setting off a bomb, called out to Axel, "Shouldn't you be somewhere right now?"
Axel just spit in Raphael's direction. "Same place you should be.." he growled irritably. Raphael shrugged it off, considering that was true. It seemed that Axel's pugnacious attitude had calmed down a bit; he wasn't so eager to kill anyone.
Raphael's shoulder's sagged, and he grunted. Frustration seemed to be his default emotion these days. "Fine, fine. I'll go back. Just don't do anything stupid while I'm gone."
Axel just waved a hand, saying, "Just go already."
Raphael laughed lightly, sprinted over and patted Axel on the head, then quickly shot up into the skies. If he had done it any later, he would've had a nice chunk taken out of his leg by the scythe. "Imbecile..." he grumbled, thoroughly agitated.

Miriel smiled slightly at the two arguing. They were just like brothers. Both knew exactly how to push each others buttons to get a reaction. Turning to Calanon Miriel checked to make sure the saddle, which had been loosened, was snug around his middle.
" Sorry about Calanon's good aim." She called out to the bent figure of Axel. "It takes him a while to get warmed up to people." She glanced back at him and thought, "And he's not the only one."
Bowing her head in farewell she patted Calanon as started to walk off of the large solid ground, picking a way sturdy enough to hold her companion. "May the star's shine on you're path!" She called out in the traditional farewell of the elves. As her figure passed farther away, the swamp that she had left grew darker, as if mourning the light she had brought.

Axel just watched her leave, mumbling something about stupid elf traditions. Axel stood up, glanced back at Bael, and at the forest around him. What would happen if one day, it didn't exist? If the rest of the lands in his own territory suddenly disintegrated? It seemed like he had already had his fill of chaos for one lifetime, but what else was there in times like this? Axel's eyes narrowed as he looked up through the sunlight that was gently filtering through the leaves. Life. What a horrible thing to lose. He paused for a moment after thinking about that. Death, then, must be a horrible thing to face. Made sense, considering who they both were. Axel could care less about having the approval of the people of this world, but he somehow felt emptier than he just had a moment ago. How was he looked upon by the world of the living? Biting his lip, Axel raised his wings, wincing as the chains shivered, then took off into the sunlit skies, watching the elf girl's retreating figure.

Violet flew high in the sky, enjoying the wind as it tickled the feathers on her wings. Her usual form had been shifted into that of a falcon, one of her favorites. There was nothing better than to soar the sky and get bits and pieces of peoples lives that would wouldn't get to see. She had seen a family out berry picking, a man shoeing a horse. And a family fighting. Now the figure of a movement in the usually deserted swamp caught her eye. "What the.." She cawed as she focused down on the figures. It was a maiden with a large black horse. "How strange.. Who would want to come in these dirty little slime holes?"
Little did she know how soon she herself was going to be in it. For as soon as those thoughts crossed her mind she ran into something, or someone rather. By the time she caught the dark figure before her it was to late. The shock of her running into him caused her to shift back into her normal human form. "What on earth!" She said as her eyes grew wide. Her form started falling from the weight.

Axel slammed into some idiotic bird, which then turned out to be a person. "Wha-what?!?!?" He yelled as she started to fall. Moaning, Axel swooped down, caught her, then carried her not-so-gently down to the ground, plopping her on the swampy grass. Brushing feathers out of his hair, he growled, "Maybe looking next time would be helpful!?" He muttered something else angrily under his breath, then started to stalk off. He didn't have any time to be annoyed by anyone else.

Violet smiled as she was caught in the strong arms of the one she had accidentally flew into. when they landed she realized who it was that had caught her. "Axel!!" Her voice showed excitement that filled her heart quickly. So her savior had been the Axel!
Her footsteps ran up to him as he tried to escape. Leaping she tackle hugged him " Oh, it is you! I had heard that you were dark, but I never knew you were this handsome!!" She hugged him tighter and squealed slightly. Her blue eyes grew serious as she said in a serious tone. " But if I had been watching you would have never met me!"

Axel cringed as this freak girl latched onto him. What did she think she was doing!? Axel took her arms and flipped her off of him. "...S-stop touching me!" he yelled, twitching. "Oh what a shame that would've been..." he grunted and rolled his eyes. He started to leave again, moving faster than before. He kept looking behind his shoulders, waiting for another hug attack.

Violet hit the ground with a thud. "Oof....That's no way to treat a girl!!" She cried out as she picked herself up. Flicking her hair out of her eyes she smirked as a giggle escaped her lips. "Oh you want to play hard to get hmm? Alright I'm game!" Her form turned into that of a falcon again and her wings carried her silently over Axel's head. "Aw the poor dear is just waiting for another hug!!" Landing in front of him as he was glancing over his shoulders. "You are so shy aren't you> You don't want to show how much you like me!" She said gently as she smiled brightly at him.
Even in the darkness her beauty shone out, for in the dark was when she was the most beautiful. She almost seemed to be made out of darkness, her dark hair, her dark blue eyes all amplified the perfect pale skin that she had. Lifting up a root that was on the ground she brought it right up before his foot at perfect tripping distance.

Axel glared at her through narrowed eyes. "What do you-" His foot hit a stick. Being his not-so-graceful self, Axel wobbled back and forth, till finally his wings completely threw him off balance. He fell face first. Shoving both hands in the dirt, he hoisted himself up, smacking the muck off of his face. He could feel his entire face reddening, but whether that was from anger or embarrassment, he couldn't tell. His mouth twisted into a snarl, and he started to shout, "You-!" Deep breath. He didn't want to explode again; it was bad for his blood pressure. He covered his face with his hand, and said slowly, trying to keep his voice calm. "Look. Just get out of my way, stop following me, and no one gets hurt, alright?" He looked at his wings and grimaced. There was grass blades between every feather. He flapped them heavily a few times, sending pieces of grass flying about in a whirlwind. Grunting, he took three huge steps in the opposite direction that she was standing, glared at her irritably, then began to walk away. Again.

Violet gigles at his red fface, taking it for a blush, and watched as her hero got up off the marshy ground. His anger took no effect on her, instead it just caused her grin to grow only wider. "You are so cute when you are angry!" She giggled again like a school girl.
"Oh, don't worry I'll never leave you! This way we can be together forever!!" Her telepathy caused her words to be echoed in his thoughts. A giggle crossed her lips yet again as she leaped to him. Her arms wrapped around his arm and she hugged it like a young child would cuddle a stuffed bear. "You're so strong!" She threw all her weight on his arm and looked up at him with her large dark blue eyes.

"Gyahhh!!!!" Axel pushed her off and began smacking himself in the head, trying to get her voice out of his mind. "Get away!!" He started running at full speed. He ran over to the farthest corner of the swamp away from her, picked up a flat leaf, and started brushing his arm with it. He didn't want any of her "residue" on his arm. Her insolent giggling echoed in his head. "Oh great.." He wondered how long it would take for him to forget this whole thing. He hid behind a group of bushes and ferns, hoping she wouldn't come looking for him.

Violet fell once again of the swamp floor and looked up at Axel with her blue eyes aflame. "How dare you!!" Her mood flipped to angry, that is until she saw him fleeing to the other side of the swamp. Picking herself up she cried out. "No wait! i'm sorry I didn't mean to get angry!!! Wait!! Let's hug and be friends again!!" Looking down at her skirt she started giving her skirt a quick brush ran after him. But axel was lucky and escaped her, this time.
She came to where he was, hiding behind a bush, but her eyes didn't see him. Calling out in her thoughts she taunted playfully, " Come out come out wherever you are!!" She smirked and let out another giggle as she ran to another spot, far away from Axel. "Surely he's here somewhere... he won't escape me! I'll find him!!"
