The Elf of Flame's first thread (Clifftown)

Zero was sitting on a rock near the cliffs. His big sword was sticking out of the ground next to him. His eyes were focused on the cliffs when he heard a snarl. He turned to see a mountain lion a few feet from the sword. It jumped at him and he smoothly ducked and moved under it. His sword was in his hand just as the beast started moving at him again. The tip of the blade was at the beasts face almost instantly, "No. My kind does not like killing animals. Please just leave." He said in his kindest tone. It did a little nod and walked off. Zero sighed. He sat back down and stuck his sword in the ground again. "This is a beautiful view..."

Violet's feet had taken her from the freezing cold temperatures to the nice mild ones in The cliffs. The wind that was almost constintly blowing through the air played with Violets thick black hiar. The sun shone down brightly from the sky and seemed to make her hair snap and sparkle like highly polished marble. Her bright blue eyes looked at the cliffs around her as if she was searching, searching for something that was eagerly awaited, yet hard to find. "Where on earth is Axel?" She muttered to herself as she wandered through the cliffs. Her head turned from side to side, but when she looked forward the sight of a mountain lion facing a man caught her attention. The guy seemed to be fully in control of the situation and Violet was preparing herself some entertainment. But that entertainment never came, instead the mountain lion just simply turned and stalked off, as if he understood his opponents wish to not fight.

"Yes it is." violet said outloud to the man as she walked over with a smirk on her face. "I wouldn't think that a guy would notice such a thing.. though..." She had been looking out at the view but turned her eyes to the side to peer at him from the corner of her eyes. "Someone as weak and softhearted as you could might be able to appreciate true beauty." Her voice was teasing, as the smirk on her face dared him to snap back at her.

Zero looked up to see the girl. "Elves can see the beauty in nearly anything." He said, turning his eyes back to the view. The softhearted thing sort of annoyed him. He was an Elf so he couldn't do that. "It is against my people's philosophy to kill an innocent animal." He gave her a cold eye stare. That was almost impossible becuase his fire would just reverse that. "But it never said not to kill annoyances." He opened his hand and a fireball appeared in a burst. He smiled a little bit and laughed quietly. "Just kidding. But seriously don't annoy me." His eyes probably seemed to flash when he said the word don't.

"" hmmm.." She stared out at the cliffs for a moment. She listened to him, but didn't face him, that is until she heard him say, :

"It is against my people's philosophy to kill an innocent animal. But it never said not to kill annoyances."

She let out a burst of melodic laughter that echoed in the cliffs for a moment as she turned to the elf and curtsying she said in a lighter tone, "I'm Violet... Glad to see that you have some strength in that body of yours." She smiled brightly at him, making her face light up, temporarily taking the darkness out of it. Holding up her hands as if to show innocence as he warned her she tossed her dark hair and her blue eyes sparkled at him, "Don't worry about it. Though.. if you annoy me.." Her mouth closed but words rung inside of his head, "Don't expect me to go easy on you either." A crooked smile came to her lips as she looked at him.

"And I'm Zero. Plus I have more strength than you will probably know." He said with a grin. Her eyes sparkling did make her seem a little more cute in his opinion. But that was wrecked by the crooked smile and the voice in his head. He had his sword in hand and an edge directed at her. "Don't invade the privacy of my mind. That is my sanctuary and nobody is allowed in." His eyes gave an evil glow and the sword seemed to glow darker. The glare lessened but the sword stayed.

Violet peered at him as her blue eyes snapped and flashed with fury. how dare he! The sky seemed to grow darker as she stared straight at him, a piercing gaze. "Oh don't worry, your mind isn't of any interest to me. Most likely it would just be fully of rainbows and unicorns, nothing that would interest me. I prefer...a darker sort of thought." She seemed to have darkness around her as the words fell from her mouth with an icy feel that would cool even the darkest hearts. But then all of a sudden her eyes returned to a sparkling luster, like the sky after it rains. "Now no need to get so serious. " She wrapped a strand of hair around her finger and held out a hand of surrender. Her smile was bright and charming now, no evil or dark intentions remained on her face, only innocence. "I was only fooling around. my my you sure get angry easily."

[kaiji]

"Rainbows!?" Zero nearly yelled. 'Calm down. Calm down.' He thought. His eyes lost their intensity and his crystal lost a little glow as well.

Zero sighed. "Sorry. It's those other Elves' fault I'm like that. Reject me just because I'm a fiery Elf." He mumbled the last sentence angrily. He sighed again and calmed himself. He pulled the sword away but still kept it in hand. He shook her hand, a little awkwardly though. He hadn't touched a human before and wasn't sure what it would do. "Yes, I'm sorry for snapping so easily." He had always been like that since 107 years ago. "The others in my village threw me out 107 years ago. As I said before my anger is their fault." He sighed. His anger grew a bit every time he mentioned it in the past.

Violet smiled at him brightly as she twirled her hair around a finger, " Don't worry about it. though elves must be mighty inpatient in order to banish someone who gets angry easily." She turned away for a moment and gazed at the cliffs. Turning her head back she laughed, " No need to keep the sword unsheathed, if I was going to hurt you, you probably would have felt it by now." She smiled again and turning her back inquired, " So what brings you here?"

Zero looked at her. "No. They kicked me out for being different. All of them had Air or Light powers. I was the only one with Fire." He said. He nodded and put his sword in the sheath on the back of his waist. His hand rubbed the rock he was on, because for some reason it was surprisingly smooth. "I came here because I dont have anywhere to really go. Plus I heard the view was good." His eyes wandered over the cliffs again. The mountain lion from before walked over next to him and laid down. He smiled at it and petted it like it was a pet. "Good girl. You didn't try to attack us. This time I might've done something." He laughed, still knowing how dangerous it could turn out.

Violet turned her head and peered at the Zero and the mountain lion, amusement and curiosity came to her eyes, but she quickly turned away. “You shouldn’t be so nice to animals. They are way to unpredictable.” But her eyes flicked back over to the mountain lion and looking at Zero, with her eyes wide with a question she murmured, “Can I pet her?” Her blue eyes held some deep wanting, wanting of kindness perhaps. For a moment her mind was taken off of Axel, but it only lasted for a moment. “” I wonder what Axel is doing right now.” A smile came over her face. “Just wait until he hears what I have been up to!”

"Animals will obey me. Mostly because I'm an Elf and the rest is because I can be frightening to them." Zero said, still petting the mountain lion. "Sure, just hold on a second." He answered. "Don't bite her or attack. She is friendly, as of now." He whispered to the beast. It growled a bit then nodded slightly. "Okay, you can pet her now." He said with a slight smile. Being an Elf wasn't all bad. Other than people thinking he would be bright and cheery all the time it was good.

Violet swinted her eyes slightly in anticipation of a sharp bite, and no longer having a hand. But nothing happened like that, instead her soft plae hand felt the coarse dense fur of the mountain lion.. Using her nails to scratch behind the ears of the cat she smiled brightly. It was an innocent smile, like that of a child receiving a present. "Wow.." Her voice was soft and it trailed off slightly.

turning her face to him she showed a bright smile, but then she realized what she was doing. "What on earth are you doing violet, he's going to think that you are all sappy." She shrunk back suddenly, the smile fading and her eyes slightly wide at her let down of barriers. Turning she crossed her arms. " Stupid, stupid stupid..." She murmured to herself. Now it would take forever to gain back the dark personality that she was known for.

Zero grinned. He watched Violet pet the mountain lion. She looked so...innocent. Then she turned to him and gave him a big smile. But then she stopped as if she was doing something wrong. "It's okay. Being happy is normal for most living things." He said. "Plus your smile doesnt make you look bad or anything." He added with a grin. He leaned over towards her after he heard the word stupid. "Neither of us are stupid. Well, I hope not at least." He looked at the mountain lion. "Go on. You can go if you wish, I'm not holding you here." He whispered to it.

Violet smiled slightly at Zero, "Perhaps." she shook her head, "Perhaps" She turned to him, "perhaps, but I usually prefer darkness." What was it that seemed to brighten up her day, could it be Zero? He indeed seemed to have an aurora of lightness about him. Even the mountain lion sensed it. sitting down on a rock she said wistfully, "How do you do it?" Was something changing in her life, or was she just seeing the light for once. The light, her utter weakness, and she had hidden it from her for so long. But is this how creatures of life feel all the time? She envied them if they did, she truely envied them.

"Prefer darkness... I don't care for either but all I do is make light, in a way at least." Zero said, turning to her. He looked at her when she sat and asked him a question. "What? Do the things with animals?" He asked. "It could just be that I'm an elf. But what I do is a little process. I could tell you if you wanted to learn." He grinned. Obviously the mountain lion didn't want to stay here. It walked off back to where it was before it had attacked.
