'-. Míríel & Adrían .-' There is something strange about sitting among ruins. They seem to bring nostalgia, as a sensation of standing still in the streams of time washes over you. Old buildings, once pure white were charred and crumbled. Who had lived among the crippled buildings who once stood tall and proud of their graceful structure? What type of people were they? It was a question that would never be answered as the people had slipped into the earth, their bodies and souls tired of living. This emotion was not lost on two elvish figures, they sat on some of the fallen stones that lay scattered about. They made an old couple, one seemed made of light itself with golden hair tumbling down her back and fair skin radiating whatever light fell upon it. The other seemed a slightly darker figure with dark auburn hair falling about his face in a nonchalant manner. Unlike the girl his skin was tanned, sun-kissed if you will, giving him a more earthy tone about him. These two were not the only creatures about, but an interesting trio of pets surrounded them. There was a tall black stallion who stood still observing the two with solemn eyes. Every once in a while his nose would lower as he snuffled around searching for a piece of grass poking through the cracked floor. Another stallion was about, but he was a fiery character, tending to prance about and get into mischief, especially with the larger horse. He was almost like a bugging gnat to the other stallion. Stealing little clumps of grass from him, and then trotting away out of kicking distance. Then there was a beautiful white tiger laying at the girl's feet. Her blue eyes watched the two male horses with amusement, but also like a sort of mother. If the perky stallion acted up too much she would let out a little growl of warning. "It is a beautiful day!" The girl's blue eyes shone brightly as she turned to the man besides her. "Mhm..." The man was leaning his back against a stone wall, eyes closed. The girl raised an eyebrow, "We traveled all the way over here and all you can do is sleep?" "I'm tired." The girl smiled for a moment then brought her face closer to her the man's with a now teasing look upon it. "Don't tell me the little boy is sleepy!" The man cracked an eye open. "Little boy? That is not a way to address your elder. Leave me be." "Well, how about an old decrepit man. Yes, perhaps you should sleep, if you move you may break something." This got his attention. "I'm not that much older than you! Only a 30 year difference." "No... perhaps you are not much older, you are ancient!" The girl laughed. Standing up quickly, which earned a glare from the tiger at her feet, she grabbed his arm and tugged on him. "Come on Adrian! Let's do something!" Adrian, pulled from his lounging position glared at his sister for a moment before sighing. "Like what Miriel?" Miriel smiled with a hint of mischief present in it. "Like a duel!" "Oh please Miriel, not another duel." "What are you scared to duel your little sister? Who knows perhaps this time you might win." Adrian let out a laugh. "Fine you little imp, I will accept your challenge." Swords were drawn, Miriel was a graceful curved blade with engravings curving and twisting down the blade. The silver blade was contrasted greatly by the black hilt that was wrapped tightly in black cloth. Adrien's was a double edged blade, being more hefty sue to his strength. There weren't many embellishments on it. The two circled each other, the pets watching with interest. It only took a moment before both came at each other. The clangs of metal on metal filled the silent air as the two exchanged blows. Even though it was obvious that Adrian had more strength behind his blows, Miriel was faster and more agile. She was on the defensive, deflecting and dodging his blows with ease. Then the roles switched, the girl on the attack, Adrien on the defensive. The blades locked and both struggled against one another. Sweat was just starting to bead on their foreheads when Adrien leaned toward the locked blades and smiled,"Now I will stop going easy on you." The blades tilted toward Miriel as she struggled against his strength. IT seemed like she was on the loosing party. Miriel slipped to the side breaking the lock, the move cost her a cut on the shoulder. She didn't even wince. The two circled one another again then as The approached one another again parrying back and forth, Miriel being pushed farther and father back until she was against a ruin wall. It seemed like the duel would soon be over. But with a flick of her wrist when Adrien was getting a bit to prideful about winning, his sword left his hand and slid across the floor. Her blade was at his neck in an instant. Her eyes were intense for a moment as Adrien held up his hands in surrender. With a laugh Miriel lowered the sword and sheathed it in a smooth motion. Walking over to his fallen sword, and shooing the fiery horse away, who had been sniffing the discarded blade with interest, she picked it up and tossed it to her brother. Adrien caught it deftly and then sheathed it. "You won again sister. Now let me see that cut I gave you." Adrien walked over and peeled the cut cloth of her glove away to look at the wound. It was pretty deep. "Eh, sorry..." "No matter!" Miriel smiled at him as the cut slowly started to knit itself back together. "Though now I have to patch it up...again." "Perhaps I could do it this time." Miriel laughed, "No, I know your needle work and it is horrid. I think I'll do it." She daintily slid the glove off, her shoulder now completely healed. Poking her finger through the new hole in the cloth she frowned."You grew to prideful, you should not count yourself the winner until you have your sword at your opponent's throat." Adrien shrugged, "I would have had you if you weren't so fast." "Perhaps you should have paid more attention to the lessons." Adrien glared at her, but that moment passed and he let out a laugh, "Perhaps."

[glow=red,2,300]Kaiji[/glow]Kaiji had been sitting atop what was left of a wall. First as a white hawk, but then as a man. He watched the entire duel. The way the girl had gotten out of the lock was skillful. A level that would take many years to achieve. His eyes caught everything after that very well. He could tell they were close to each other. He smiled a bit without noticing it.

'-. Míríel & Adrían .-'A Growl broked through Miriel's and Adrian's conversation. Both turned to see the Tiger pacing looking up at a wall nearby. "What is it Syrena?" Miriel strode forth and rested her hand in the soft white fur. Her blue gaze climbed up the wall until it rested on a man. Her brow wrinkled slightly. How long had he been watching them. Then her eyes shifted to Adrian. Adrian was at Miriel's side in an instant, face tilted up at the man, hand resting on the hilt of his sword. What was this man doing, sitting there watching them? "Hello there! What do you think you're doing there?" Miriel, upon seeing the man's smile warmed up almost instantly. "Yes you should come down!" "Miriel" Adrian's voice had the tone of a father speaking to a young child, "I don't think it would be wise." Miriel smiled at him before giving him a playful shove. "Oh please," She tilted her face up at the man and stroked Syrena's back, calling the growl within."Don't worry Syrena won't hurt you, she is more bark than bite sometimes. I'm Miriel and this is my brother Adrian." Her smile was bright and shining, "What brings you to these parts?"

[glow=red,2,300]Kaiji[/glow]Kaiji nearly fell backwards over the wall when the tiger growled. 'I knew I should've stayed in my hawk form...' He thought. Then the two elves came over near the wall. The man was asking why he was here. "Uh, well... I was just flying around. I saw you two; well, your shiny swords." He said, laughing a little. Then the girl elf said that he should come down. The two had a little bit of a talk to themselves. Kaiji didn't listen. The girl said the tiger wouldn't hurt him. He was sure she wan't lying, but he was still wary. He slid down the wall and stopped infront of the tiger. "Hello, Miriel and Adrian. My name is Kaiji." He said with a slight bow.

'-. Míríel & Adrían .-' Syrena's growl stopped as Miriel's hand stroked her back, but her eyes were still watching Kaiji's move, one misstep and she would be after him. Miriel, sensing the tension in her body stroked the tiger tenderly. "It's alright." She whispered as a thud was heard. The man had jumped off the wall and landed. "Well it is nice to meet you Kaiji!" "Pleasure." Adrian mumbled. HIs face, now in a serious disposition watched the man. What type of guy would this turn out to me? Was he a threat? His mind reached into Miriel's as he red her thoughts. His sister usually had a good judge of character, though it was a bit naive at times. So matching her views with his knowledge he could usually come up wit ha pretty good judgement of someone. Miriel gaze him a look, teling him she could feel his presence. Adirna immediately withdrew himself from her. If Adrian had been younger he would have reached into KAiji's mind first, but after a dealing with a stronger mind reader, he had stopped doing that unless needed. "Well I hope you weren't disappointed in our little show of swordsmanship," The fiery little horse trotted up to Kaiji and lowering his head stuck his nose in the man's hair and gave it a sniff. "Oh, don't mind him, That is Shadowfax, and that" She pointed to the larger horse, "Is apolo We make quite a bunch don't we?" Adrian, who had been mulling things over in his mind suddenly butted into the conversation, "How did you get on that wall good sir?"

[glow=red,2,300]Kaiji[/glow]Kaiji smiled. "Nice to meet you as well." He said, keeping an eye on the tiger. He made ready to change into an animal that was equally as fierce or faster. He wouldn't want to hurt the beautiful beast. Especially since it was a white tiger. Kaiji was about to respond, but the horse sniffing his hair interrupted. He laughed for a second. "No, it was a very good show of the skills you both posess. Much better than anything I've ever seen." He said, "Yeah, you do make quite the bunch. Not that that's a bad thing." He turned to Adrian, who had asked him how he got on the wall. He smiled a little, "I flew up there, like this." He jumped, and fluidly shifted from a man into a snowy white hawk. He flew around and landed on a wall that was level with their heads.

Ebony ♥ As I try to make my way to the ordinary world..[/center] Ebony stepped out of the threshold of the baker's small storefront, taking in a deep breath of the fresh afternoon air. In the crook of her arm was a picnic basket filled with bagets and sesame seed rolls, and from it wafted what Ebony considered to be the warmest, most delicious scent in the world. Taking a peak she lifted the lid slightly and poked her head in, inhaling deeply with a smile of satisfaction. Closing the top again she stretched her arms out and yawned slightly, already worn out from having to cart her elderly caretaker around during the day's errands.
Speaking of which, where was the old woman?
Glancing all around her with her brow furrowed in confusion, she leaned over and poked her head back into the baker's small shop space, only to find it empty. Ebony blew upwards, making her honey-brown bangs fly upwards before laying contently back on her glistening forehead. It certainly felt like summer today.
Ebony brought her fingers to her lips as she grew more and more nervous, her head whipping back and forth as she searched for her overly curious walking partner. With a little leap she stepped off the small stoop in front of the door, barefoot, and began pacing across the cobblestone street. She shoved her way through the huddled crowd of people, mumbling half-hearted "excuse me"s along the way. Eventually she fought through to the other side, sighing with relief at the cool breeze that blew across her cheeks. The relief faded when she spotted a wrinkly old woman teetering her way over to a growling, muscular, angry-looking tiger.
"Oh, for heaven's sake!" she growled to herself under her breath as she stomped closer to her grandmother, her feet practically frying against the hot pavement.
"Such a pretty little kitten you are, yes..?" the old bag mused in a sing-songy voice, reaching her shaky hand out to stroke the plush white fur.
That is, until Ebony stood in her way with her arms outstretched like a barricade.
"Oh, hello Ebony. When did you get here?" she continued, smiling widely. Ebony smacked a palm against her face and muttered something incoherently before taking a step back from the tiger--and taking the old coot with her.
"Uhm, sorry about that. She's a little..." Ebony started, her gaze shifting between the big cat and the graceful-looking pair of people standing nearby. "...Half-brained?" Ebony said, unable to find quite the right word.
Looking between the woman and the man, she could tell they were elves--slender, beautiful, clever elves. She glanced up for a moment and her expression twisted in confusion as she spotted a half-hawk man perched utop a roof a few feet above her.
..Strange company... she thought.

'-. Míríel & Adrían .-' Miriel watched in amusement as Kaiji shifted forms into that of a hawk. "Ah Adrian look at that! Wouldn't it be wonderful to fly! Who knew we had a shape shifter in our midst!" Adrien sighed and shook his head. Sometimes Miriel was no older than a child, by the way she acted. She was amused so easily by things and was so easy to entertain, usually. The world was filled with wonder and every day she saw a new mystery in something. Sometimes he wished he could be like her, to have innocence, to be as pure. He was just going to say something when an old lady came hobbling around the corner and exclaimed about a pretty kitty. Immediately he grew tense, what would Syrena do? She didn't care to much for people coming towards her uninvited, especially strangers. The white tiger turned quickly as the old lady approached, at first her ears lay flat against her, as she now had to worry about two newcomers, but as soon as she realized that the lady was old, and harmless, her ears pricked forward. Cautiously she moved forward to investigate, she had never seen such a round and wrinkly two legged creature before. Just as she was drawing closer, another human came around the bend. Her ears flicked back with uncertainty. Miriel upon feeling the tension leave the tiger she lifted her hand and watched with curiosity. When the old lady came into view all she could do was smile. Humans were so funny at old ages, sense seemed to leave them and they reminded her of old trees, who groaned at every movement. Once the girl entered and started to apologize Miriel just laughed. "Oh no matter!" She moved over to the tiger's side and ruffled the fur on the top of Syrena's head fondly. "Seems like Syrena has taken a liking to your grandmother, even if she is a little half-brained." She smiled. "She is your grandmother right?" Adrien sighed, more people, at least these were females, he preferred those to the other gender. Walking up, with still a stoic visage he nodded to them in greeting. His blue/green eyes observed the pair. The lady reminded him of a raisin, and seemed to be about as smart as one. It was strange how humans shifted from child, to teen, to adult, then back down to child. Yes, the older lady seemed to have a dazed look to her, as if she wasn't all there. The younger girl was youthful and respectful, marks of good character, . Seeing a wary look on her face as she looked at the tiger, Adrian decided to try and dismiss the fears. "Do not worry about the tiger. She is very obedient to my sister, I have seen her called off of a hunt, right as she was about to pounce on prey, with nothing more than a word. Plus her demeanor is very gentle right now. If anything she is nothing but curious at the moment" "Yes and she will go no further than that I assure you!" Miriel sighed, still smiling disarmingly. "Oh forgive me! Syrena has been introduced to you but no one else has! I am Miriel and that is my brother Adrien. Do not be worried by his cold manner, he's just shy." "Miriel. I am not shy." Adrien rebuffed, then sighed in exasperation at the teasing. "Nice to meet you." Miriel's smile only rew brighter as she winked at Ebony in a playful manner. "That is Shadowfax." She pointed to the horse, who had grow disinterested in the man who had somehow changed into a winged bird and was now turning his attention to to Ebony's basket. Upon hearing his name he froze, head outstretched towards the basket. Then his head snapped up as he tried to further his innocence by nickering slightly. "He is mine and quite full of mischief. That is Apollo." She pointed to the other horse who moved up slowly and stood by Adrien in a well-mannered fashion. "He's my brother's. That up there," She pointed at the hawk with a smile. "Is...Well I will let him introduce himself."

[glow=red,2,300]Kaiji[/glow]Kaiji tilted his head and clicked his beak. He just sat and listened while Miriel introduced herself and Adrian, and then the animals. Then she pointed to him and said that he could introduce himself. 'Guess that's my cue.' He thought. He hopped off the wall, flew up a few feet and shifted back into his human form. "Hello there," He said, bowing, "My name is Kaiji. Nice to meet you." His eyes went from the young lady and the old woman. He smiled.

Ebony ♥ As I try to make my way to the ordinary world..[/center][/color] Ebony hooked an arm around her great-grandmother's as she tried to scurry off again, a forced smile on her face. Her father obviously had no idea what he had signed her up for.
"Great grandmother. Although I use that term lightly..." she added quietly. She could feel the old woman tugging on her arm as her curiosity was getting the best of her. Perhaps this hadn't been such a good idea. Ebony heard music behind her, a joyful honky-tonk of sorts, but whatever it was, it probably would just cause her more aggravation rather than good. She nodded to Kaiji in acknowledgement, although a little wary of his strange form. "I'm Ebony. And this is Agatha."
Ebony just sniffed sarcastically at Adrian's statement about the tiger. "I get all that, but the thing is, pretty much everything is a hazard with her." And just as she said that, she noticed the pulling on her arm had stopped. Turning to her left side, her jaw dropped as she saw nothing but the pavement beneath her.
"That little witch.." she hissed angrily as she whipped around to look behind her. She saw her grandmother's wobbly little figure heading in the direction of what looked like a sizeable crowd gathering. Over the heads of the people she could see bursts of fire and what looked like... a raccoon?
"Grandma...! GRANDMA!" she shouted, starting to run after her, but then stopping as she heard what sounded like clanging swords.
"Uh... Does anybody know what's going on over there?"

'-. Míríel & Adrían .-'Miriel smiled and putting her hand on over her heart bowed slightly in the manner of greeting in the elvish fashion. Just as she was coming up from the bow it seemed like the little old lady had run off, causing a sort of curse to come from the girl. Then she chased after the grandmother, only to stop, and stare. The reason soon became apparent to Miriel as the sound of sword-fighting reached her ears. "Stay here!" She called to her pets and then strode over to Ebony. "I'm not sure. Perhaps it is a sort of traveling circus or something. I must say I am about as curious as your great grandmother over there. Why don't we go and see?" Miriel looped her arm with Ebony's and started walking toward the commotion. "Perhaps we will see some tricks with the blade!" Adrian followed his sister, not wanting to go, but not wanting to be left behind with the pets either. He had to keep an eye out for Miriel. "Come on with us Kaiji, perhaps you will see more swordsmanship. Are you a swordsman?" Adrian then turned as continued on his way. Just as he drew near to Miriel she turned and smiled at him, pausing for a second to call out to him, "Adrian, why don't oyu give Ebony a break and you watch Agatha for a bit?" Just as he was about to protest he saw Ebony, and could see what this old woman was doing to her. Sighing he called out to his sister. "No diriel!" (Be watchful) To which Miriel answered back, "Lau, le No diriel!" (No, you be watchful!) And signalling to the grandmother. Adrian shook his head and walked over to the grandmother, wrapping his arm around her shoulder in a protective but gentle way and smiled down at her. "Hello there Agatha! I'm Adrian, and I will be your companion for a bit. Would you like to go see what is going on?" Miriel then looked back at KAiji and waved, "Come on KAiji! Let's go see what is going on over there!"

[glow=red,2,300]Kaiji[/glow]Kaiji smiled a bit. "Ah, that sounds nice. Oh, and I'm not too bad, but not as good as you and Miriel." He said, starting after them. What had this old woman gotten them all into. 'And how did she?' He thought to himself. He continued on and heard Miriel and Adrian speak in what he guessed was the language of the elves. Then Miriel called for him to come with her. "Alright!" He said, hurrying over to her.

Ebony ♥ As I try to make my way to the ordinary world..[/center][/color] With a hopeless shrug, Ebony followed after the elf and the shapeshifter, too tired to worry about the safety of her grandmother with the elven man. He looked like he could handle himself, but that didn't mean he could handle a slippery old geezer too.
"Oooh. Hello. Have you met my granddaughter? She was here a moment ago... She's very pretty. Takes after me," Agatha said cheerfully as she hooked her arm around Adrian's with no reserve. "Why I remember one time long ago in my youthful days...." and on and on she went, chittering and chattering about nothing of great importance.
Ebony looked back for a second and saw her grandmother babbling away, already feeling guilty for putting Adrian through her own personal torture. When the two siblings had spoken in the elven language Ebony had barely recognized some of the words. She herself being an elf it was a bit of a disgrace that she didn't know her own language, but her father had always spoken to her in the words of the common people. He himself could speak it fluently.
As Ebony neared the crowd her eyes grew wide as she saw a strange-looking man balancing like a crane high off the ground on a skinny little plank of wood. She could tell the show had started some time ago but was eager to watch.
--I will learn to survive-- [/font][/color] MILOS[/color][/size]
Milos was positioned perfectly still utop the single, one-inch thick beam of wood with one leg protruding out into the air. His mouth was wide open with his tongue lolling out much like an overheated canine, an "ahhhh" sound coming from his throat. Only a few feet above him twirled a razor sharp, steel blade with fire setting the tip ablaze. The crowd beneath him had hushed into dead silence as he hung in that position, twenty feet from the ground on one foot. Suddenly the sword came plummeting down and the crowd gasped in horror as it shot right into his mouth and his head lolled backwards.
He remained that way, motionless as a corpse.
Then, at the sound of the trumpet, he flung himself off the beam of wood, doing a backflip in mid air, and landing like a feline on his toes, the hilt of the sword jutting out from his mouth. The spectators showed their enthusiasm with a loud and rowdy cheer. A look of discomfort came over Milos as he began to yank the sword out of his throat. When he pulled it out, shocked exclamations erupted as it was revealed that the tip was still on fire. He looked at it with a quizzical expression then stuck it back on his tongue and closed his mouth, making steam blow out his ears like a geyser. Pleased laughter scattered throughout the crowd as he took a bow with his nose and ears still puffing like a smoke stack. In one swift movement he pulled the blade from his lips and flipped it over to stand beside him while inconspicuously handing a small sack to his raccoon companion. Manos ran off into the crowd as hidden as a shadow, "bumping" into many patrons as he moved along. Milos almost cheered out loud at the thought of their dinner tonight with all these "unexpected tips."
As quick as lightning he scampered up the side of the nearest building, standing on top of it proudly with his hands on his hips. In that moment the raccoon returned to him, the sack jingling full of golden coins. Out of seemingly nowhere he whipped out a top hat bursting with a rainbow of feathers. The rodent dumped all of the jangling money into the hat whilst Milos plopped it on top of his head.
"You've been a beautiful audience, peasants of the lands of Light!"
A cheer came out of the crowd as Milos leaped twenty feet across his makeshift stage onto a metal pole and spiraled down it in a blurring speed. With one final roll he tossed himself out into the audience and was carried by his laughing and joking patrons to the other side.
"May the stars guide your path! ...And may you never cross Axel's unless you have good insurance!" With that final word, the people applauded loudly as they began to disperse. Milos and Manos pranced their way back onto the stage with Manos dashing back and forth as his little claws grasped loose change. Milos crashed onto the wooden planks as he let out a sigh of exhaustion. Manos scrambled up and spread out more glorious pocket change beside him.
He picked up one golden coin and examined it with a smirk. "We're eating good tonight, mio little compadre."

'-. Míríel & Adrían .-' Adrian smiled down gently at the Agatha. "Yes, I have she is very pretty. You know I do think I see some traces of beauty that you two share." He listened patiently to all the chatter that came like a waterfall from her mouth. He was surprised that she could keep going without drawing much of a breath. Soon the words came nothing but babble as he merely nodded his head and smiled down at her. It seemed that was all she needed. Adrian also made sure that he had a firm grip on the old lady, not wanting to loose, her. Yet, he also made sure that it wasn't to tight to harm to old lady. Don't be modest Kaiji, i am sure you are skilled with the sword! Perhaps we will duel sometime!" Then seeing Ebony looking at Adrien and Agather, she nudged Ebony and whispered, "Don't feel bad about Adrien, it's good for him." She stopped just as the show started. It was fascinating display and Miriel couldn't help but join the crowd with gasps and cheers. She loved these sorts of things with a girlish delight. When he mentioned the last words about Axel Miriel frowned slightly. She knew he was being light-hearted, but to talk about a guardian in such a manner...Even Axel was being disrespectful. Things had changed. Still Miriel shook it off and looked at Ebony, "That was impressive! Did you like it? Then she turned to Kaiji. "You got two shows today!" Then seeing that the crowd had dispersed and that the performer was now alone on the stage Miriel's smile broadened. "Tiro! (look!) He's by himself. Come let us go talk to him!" Walking forward she came up and stood before the man with a confident smile on her face. "You certainly earned it! That was quite a show sir!" Adrian looked up just in time to see his sister approaching another male. Rolling his eyes he looked down at Agatha, "Why don't we meet the performer?" And slowly guided her that way. "I enjoyed it thoroughly. How long will you be staying in the lands of light?" Miriel continued. Adrian looked at the performer. "Come now Miriel let's not bother him, he must be seeking some peace after the rowdy crowd." He looked to Kaiji for some support, "What do you think Kaiji?"

[glow=red,2,300]Kaiji[/glow]Kaiji smiled at what he percieved as a compliment. He watched the show with almost as much interest as Miriel. He gasped only a couple times less than she did. He turned to her when she had said he had gotten two shows that day. "Yeah, I guess I did." He laughed. He thought back to the siblings' little duel. That was really a much better show than this one. This show was just more appealing to the eyes. Although he didn't mention it, he did catch the little raccoon's actions. He didn't exactly like it, but he figured if this man had to be out on the street performing, he probably needed some money. Either that, or he just liked taking people's money. That was definitely not a good thing, especially for the folks who had their money taken.
Kaiji had started to kind of space out after the crowd left. That usually happened when nothing was really going on. Adrian and Ebony's grandmother had come over without him noticing. Then Adrian asked him something. "Yeah. If I were him I wouldn't want to be bothered right after a performance." He said, agreeing with Adrian. He caught that Adrian wanted some support. His eyes went to the performer, wondering why he came here. Just to take people's money? Or to perform?
