. aurora . Aurora pursed her lips and searched what was left of her memory. Perhaps she had met someone and hadn't known it. But she would have felt it, wouldn't she? The elf finally settled with dropping her eyes and shaking her head. "I don't think I'm from around here. Nothing...feels familiar." She told him with a frown. "I'm not sure if I do. I have..." Aurora trailed off, her eyes wide. She'd been about to say hallucinations, but did she really want Damion to know that? No, she definitely did not. "I have a feeling I don't." She finished, being completely honest. The feelings the hallucinations gave her, yeah, they definitely made her feel like she didn't want to remember. She smiled at him sadly. "Be glad you don't have to."
Then she smiled, trying to lighten the mood. When she had come to this beach earlier, Aurora hadn't expect to spill out everything she knew. Far from that, actually. She glanced at the horizon, trying to imagine what Damion was describing about flying, but she couldn't. Aurora had never been in the sky, as much as she was interested in it, she also feared it.
"I'll remember that." Aurora said, referring to his 'whenever'. "It sounds so wonderful," She breathed, her eyes holding a far-away look. With a blink, she was back.
When he smile, it felt as though a load of bricks was lifted from her. Obviously what she had done wasn't too bad if he wasn't angry. The blush lightened, though it was still present on her cheeks. She knew she would have to find Damion once the rose melted, for it was much too beautiful to not see if every day. Of course, she'd have to give him something in return, something beautiful as well. Aurora would have to think about that.
"You're welcome, Damion. I'm glad I met you too, and first." She told him gently, a calm, happy expression on her face.

Damion wondered if Aurora really did remember something, just nothing that she wanted to confess. But then again, if you've lost all memory of your life before then how can you know where things that you might seem to remember fit in. How could you be sure that it wasn't just a dream? Damion really didn't know how to think about it. There were so many possibilities for what could have happened and yet, so few answers that were concrete.
He nodded his understanding, "Yes, I suppose that there was a reason your mind chose to forget. But I suppose the bright side is that, with nothing behind you, you can always be looking ahead to the future! That is a gift I am sure many people would wish they could possess. Especially those of us with quite the capability for long pasts'." He smiled, hoping that the slight change in his words would wipe that sad look away.
Damion felt a cool breeze come in from the sea. It was salty and sweet, a strange combination, but he knew that it would not smell so sweet if it weren't for how welcome it was. He was always thankful for anything that made him relax. He didn't know why but the breeze of the ocean and the sound of the waves upon the shore, whether crashing heartily, or simply falling softly, made him feel like there was a chance for the world to actually be perfect and right again. He just didn't know if that time would ever come while he was alive. But considering that he was going to live so long as no one killed him in battle, that might be possible and it might not. He just hoped that whenever his time did come, he would still know Aurora, and she would be well.
Suddenly, a thought hit him. How would he find Aurora again if he had no idea where she was going to be? Most people had to live in places that were at least connected. Was this that place for Aurora? For a dragon, seeking people was a lot easier than normal, but if he had no idea where to look, it would make things a lot harder.
"So, if you don't mind me asking, where do you go from here? How would I find you again?" He knew that it might sound a little strange to ask a question like that, but all the same. "I won't be following you or anything but it will be kinda hard to talk to you again if I don't know where to look."

. aurora . Aurora wondered what Damion thought about her. Did he see her as some dumb fool who couldn't remember anything? Or perhaps a liar. She severely hoped it was neither, instead something positive. All while she pondered this, she had no idea Damion was speaking. With a blink of her pale green eyes, she was back and coherent.
Long pasts? "Sometimes I wonder how old I am." Aurora smiled. "But since elves age ever so slowly, it's nearly impossible to tell. It's fun to guess and wonder, though." She told him, beginning to wonder once more. The elf couldn't be too young, for she was positive she had lived a reasonable amount of years, before she lost her memory. And she'd spent several years in Eldarwin. Aurora let out a breath; her head began to hurt from thinking too much about it.
A smile curved onto her face at Damion's questioning. He wanted to see her again. She was so happy that someone liked to be around her, and that she felt the same way. But how would he find her again? How could Aurora find him again? He probably roamed the skies, far higher than she could see. Aurora pursed her lips.
"I usually stay to secluded areas, unless I need something from a town." She told him thoughtfully. "I don't like being around large crowds. It's suffocating." Aurora actually hated being around people. It wasn't only that they were suffocating, it was just that there was so many people. And the thought that perhaps one of them knew her--what if they confronted her, but Aurora had nothing to give? That was the main reason she avoided people, truthfully.
A thought came to Aurora. She could give him a tracker, couldn't she? Aurora knew enough magic to create a sort of spell that could direct him to her. It was a bit risky--perhaps she didn't always want Damion to know where she was. Ah, but she wanted to see him again didn't she?
"May I see the stone I gave you for just a moment?" She asked him politely, hoping he wouldn't be offended that she'd asked for it back, if only temporarily.

When Aurora mentioned being around large crowds, Damion smiled. He had figured she was the kind of person to stay away and go on her own. She seemed to be too shy to venture into the crowds of people, yet enough of a free spirit to brave conversing on closer terms. Some people could handle large crowds and some people couldn't. It was all personality he supposed. He was rather diverse. He preferred to have some time with people, and then some time to himself, but then again, that was only how it had been. In a different time, it was quite possible that Eldarwin was a different place completely. He didn't really consider the land as Eldarwin, but rather the people. If they had changed as much as he suspected, then things could get ugly pretty quickly. He might end up like Aurora, constantly wanting to be alone.
When she asked for the stone Damion gave a quizzical look and then drew it from his pocket. It was already cold from being so close the body. He suddenly felt like a walking snowflake. His cheeks went a slightly pink but it died quickly. Inwardly he was shaking his head and scolding himself. He was an ice dragon... He couldn't help the fact that everything he touched turned freezing cold. He handed the rock to Aurora and then looked away. He was really not used to this place.
Still not looking at her, he asked, "What are you going to do?"

. aurora . Aurora had a small smile on his face at Damion's expression. She somehow enjoyed knowing things other people didn't. It gave her a little...security, something she felt she didn't have much of. An eyebrow was raised slightly when he placed the stone in her hand. It was quite cold; she assumed that was because he was an ice dragon. His skin was colder than anyone she'd known, no matter how little that might be. She held the stone in her hand, softly rubbing her hand over the rough surface. It was already starting to warm up; she could feel her warmth seeping into the stone, though she doubted it would get to the core.
"For lack of a better word, a locator." Aurora told him, staring down at the rock. She hoped it would work; she hadn't used actual magic for actually quite a while. The elf closed her hand tight, staring down at the rock in concentration. Magic poured out of her; she could feel it pulling away from her and disappearing into the stone. Finally, the magic stopped, but Aurora wasn't finished. Light flooded in her hand, pouring out from between her fingers. Abruptly, it stopped, and Aurora looked up at Damion with a smile. She placed the stone back into his hand, hers on top of the stone.
"There. A locator. I don't think you wouldn't be able to find me, but this will make it easier. Just hold the rock, and think of me. You'll be drawn to where I am." She took her hand away and looked into Damion's blue eyes.
In the distance, Aurora heard a loud, annoyed neigh. She sucked in a breath and rolled her eyes, turning around and glancing towards where she had left her horse. "Unfortunately, that is Ross. He's going to try to get himself loose if I don't come back." She smiled at Damion apologetically, her head tilted slightly to the side.
Aurora looked behind her, then back to Damion. "Goodbye, Damion. I hope to see you again!" She told him, walking backwards as she talked. Then she turned around, and began to walk back to where she'd left Ross. She could only hope that Mimi was there as well, and hadn't run off to do something stupid.

When Damion took the stone back, he felt the warmth emanating from it. Aurora had warmed it up so much in just that short amount of time, Damion began to wonder if she had fire magic. He then shook his head slightly. That would be scary for him at first, but Aurora was his friend thus far, and he would consider her so, fire or not. Only betrayal would shake his trust in her. Fire was just natural for some people, just like ice was jsut natural for him. He would learn to dela with it.
He pocketed the stone once more, smiling at Aurora. He was glad that he had an assured way to find her now. He would have hated to make such a friend and then not ever see her again. She was the first person that he had seen since coming out from the cave. He wanted to make sure that he saw her again. Something inside of him just liked her. She was kind and gentle and he found much sympathy for her plight even though he could never share empathy.
Looking to the horse for a moment, he then chuckled, "I think he has been tied up for long enough. Looks to me he longs for freedom as much as I do. Goodbye Aurora, and thanks again!" He then turned away from her. Closing his eyes, he felt the magic that was holding him in human form begin to fade away. It wasn't really much, but it was magic nonetheless. Snow flakes began to emanate from him, falling to the ground after flying into the air. The flurry grew larger and large until it began to look like the shape of a dragon. When all the snow had fallen to the ground, Damion stood tall and strong in his true form. His wings stretched as though he were going to take off when he spotted something small and grey from the corner of his eye. It was Mimi. She was hiding close to Ross, but still far enough away from Aurora to make trouble for her. He smirked and then turned to look at Aurora.
In a voice that was much deeper than what she had been hearing from him for the past few moments, he spoke gently, "Aurora, I am afraid Mimi is hiding over there." Ice spread from his front right claw and went on a straight path towards the little creature. He then turned away, stretching his wings and jumped off the ground, his wings beating rhythmically, sending bursts of air onto the ground below until he was far enough out of sight. He looked back to where Aurora was and began to think about when he would find her again... He hoped it would be soon. However, before he could do that, he owed a visit to a place he hadn't been to in a long time.

. aurora . Aurora arrived at the dappled grey horse with a confused expression. She had expected Mimi to be lying upside down across Ross's back as she usually was when she was bored, but Mimi was no where in sight. Her eyes widened as she looked around frantically. "Mimi! Mimi, where are you?" She hissed. Now that she thought about it, it was just like Mimi to hide from her when both Aurora and Ross were ready to leave somewhere. With a slightly angry expression, Aurora walked away from her horse and began to search the surrounding area.
Before she got more than a couple steps, a deep voice stopped her in her tracks. It sounded like Damion but much, much deeper. With wide eyes, she looked up. A dragon, no Damion was pointing towards where he supposedly saw Mimi. A thankful smile appeared on her face as she scurried over to where the claw was pointing, and Mimi was indeed there. "Mimi, you can be such a dolt." Aurora muttered darkly, picking up the ferret, which ran up her arm and settled onto her favorite place; Aurora's shoulder. "Thank you Damion!" She shouted after the dragon that was beginning to disappear from sight.
Aurora walked over to Ross, who was beginning to become quite annoyed. She whispered soothing words to the horse as she untied him and gathered her things. The elf hoisted herself onto the horse and dug her heel softly into Ross's side, causing him to start off in a slow trot.
She hoped that Damion would visit her soon, for she greatly enjoyed his company. Perhaps, when--or if, she supposed it might not happen, they could go to something instead of just talking. The possibilities were limitless...nearly. But meanwhile, Aurora would have to go into town and find a witch or someone who knew enough magic to keep her rose frozen, or at least create a bag with a frozen seal. She didn't want to ask Damion for another. But she also didn't exactly want another person's magic tampering with the rose. Was what Damion did considered magic? After all, he was an ice dragon. Perhaps that was just something he could do... Aurora didn't really care anymore; she was just thinking about various things she could do to preserve the rose. She rode away from the beach, and into the forest, hoping to be alone for a couple days before she would find a way to keep the gift frozen.
