Kaiji noticed the tear on his cheek and quickly wiped it off. His hand sliped to his shirt and he put it back on. Then she adressed him once again. "I hope you and I can become friends then. Maybe some time I will tell you about me." He said with a sort of smile. Then she answered his thoughts. She probably had some sort of psychic powers that allow her to read minds and project her thoughts into others' minds. A dragon. Kaiji could not believe it for the most part. Dragons were big things, yet she was so...not big. "Yes. Quite a suprise actually. You don't look like you could be one. But I should know that too well. People wouldn't really guess that I am a shapeshifter." He said with a slght grin.

*Athena nodded at his question about becoming friends. "I accept your offer in friendship..." She smiled genuinly at him, which was a rare sight. The smile lighted up her face and seemed to make it bright as fire. "I would like that.. to hear about your past.." She nodded at him in a kind way of saying thanks. Her thanks was thanking him for understanding, for being there. It was nice to have someone understand her. For she only had one friend, Elizabeth. Now she had two.
She nodded also at his mentioning being a shape shifter. "A shape shifter is a gift to have.to become anything you want, whenever you want. To hide and see people at another level would be nice." She looked at him with her eyes dancing. "The only form I can transform into.. attracts alot of attention, s you might expect. You don't see dragons every day you know."

Kaiji smiled at her accepting his offer. She was the first real friend he made in years. All he had from the point his village was killed was his sister. Her smiling was wonderous to him. It really did seem to light up her face which just made him smile even more. "Yes, it is nice. I could even turn into the form you're in now if I wanted to." He said with a laugh. He nodded at the last thing she said. "I've never seen a real dragon. Only drawings and my imagination. Being a golden one, you must be an awesome looking dragon." He said with a little grin.

Athena's eyes drifted to the smile of the man infront of her. She sudied it for a moment before turning away from him for a moment. For some reason her heart seemed, light, as light as she did when her wings stroked the sky. Looking down at her hand for a moment she examined it once more. It had been a long time since her heart had felt this light, a long time. She hadn't know how heavy it had become, for every day, every memory just started to cause bitterness in her heart. With bitterness there came weight, and each day it seemed as though she had been slipping slowly into a hole of darkness, of hopelessness, of anger.
"Oh, you think so? Well I'm flattered, though many find it quiet frightening.." She turned to him and blinked, her eyes seemed like that of a snakes for a moment until she blinked again. A smirk played on her lips as she shook her head slightly. Dragons had a strange fascination with their scales, they were their pride and joy. Usually they were very vain about these things.

Kaiji swung his arms back and forth. They felt way better now. Then Athena turned to him and her eyes seemed like a snakes until she blinked again. Kaiji grinned a little and closed his eyes for a second. When they opened they looked as if he had the eyes ok a hawk. Well, he did. He smiled a little and blinked and they went back to their normal color. "Dragons are something I think I would be scared by and amazed by. Half the things I turn into would frighten normal people." He said. His hand went down to a container of water he had. He looked at her, "Would you like some water?" He asked, holding it out with a small smile.

Athena's eyes sparkled with amusement. She should have guessed that a shape-shifter would understand what it is like to have multiple identities. At his offer of water She mearly shook her head," right now I'm fine.. You probably need it more than most." She looked upa t the pure blue sky. It was calling, beckoning her to soar through its limitless skies. It was a call that she couldn't refuse. Looking at Kaiji, a playful look resided in her eyes. "Would you care.. to.. perhaps take a turn in the skies? I feel as though my wings need to be stretched." Perhaps this friend would understand what it felt like to feel the wind rustle against your wings, to feel the light hearted feeling that came to you as your body felt weightless. Sadly, Elizabeth seemed to not understand, but that could be understood, after all she was a land lubber. She shook her head at the term, pitiful things, those landlubbers, they were missing out on so much.

"Alright then." Kaiji said. He drank some of the contents and sealed it back up. Athena looked up into the sky which made him want to as well for some reason. He did, and the sky was suprisingly blue. Then she asked what he took as 'Do you want to fly with me?' Kaiji nodded, "Yes. That would be fun. I'm just not sure what to fly as." He said. He shrugged and jumped into the air. Then he turned into a falcon and landed on his feet. "We can go now." He said. The words came out of his beak.

Athena nodded and stepping back she caused a large ring of fire to circle around her. It's flames reached 10 15 feet in the sky, covering her completely. yet the fire didn't eat away at the gress, it merely was there. then alsmot as soon as they had appeared they disappeared and there she was. Her golden scales glinted brightly in the sun and her wings stretched out as if they were stiff. Her size was medium for dragons, yet it was very large to mere mortals, or humans. Looking down at the Falcon she smirked as she shuffled her feet in anticapation. "Well what are we waiting for?"

Kaiji watched as the flames came up around his new friend. Then there she was, a big golden dragon. Even as a falcon it could be noticed that his eyes went wide. "I was just waiting for you." He said. He began flapping his waings and soared off into the sky. The wind flowing past his feathers was the best feeling when he was a bird. From the sky he could see everything. Yet, he still didn't feel at home. His home was just about the exact opposite of where he was.

Athena grinned in her dragon form and leapt into the air, her wings beating for the wind and bringing her closer to the sky. Oh the blue depths of the skies. Here she felt so welcome. For the blue depths reminded her of her mother. She felt comforted and close to her mother ash she soared in the skies. It seemed as though her mother was there beside her, laughing at her attempt to fly in the air and teaching her little tips in flying.
But that was long ago, in a much happier time. Yet Athena's eyes focused on the blue sky, it changed shades so many times during the day, just like she had seen her mothers scales do in the sunlight. Athena liked to think that when the sky turned golden in the evening that it was her mother remembering her and telling her that even to the end, she had loved her. Perhaps it was whimsical, perhaps it was just fantasy, but it meant alot to her. Taking a turn in the sky she did a flip, then a barrel rol. Letting out a stream of golden fir she watched as the river of molten gold, or so it looked to be, disappeared into wreathing smoke. Her eyes glanced down at the hawk friend, who wasn't quiet as comfortable in the sky, she could feel it. But she laughed at him, beating those wings of his. She shook her head, they couldn't amount her hers, though they were definitely better than most.
"Isn't the sky beautiful today! the wind is perfect for flying." She slowed her flying so that she was near to the hawk. She smiled brightly. "If you get tired please tell me.. dragons can fly alot longer than most.."
